Having worked in the hospitality industry for over three-decades Mr. Salil Panigrahi started his journey as a Chartered Accountant now turned Hotelier and is the co-founder and Managing Director of ATMOSPHERE CORE, a globally recognised hospitality group.
The company’s portfolio includes acclaimed brands such as THE OZEN COLLECTION, COLOURS OF OBLU and By Atmosphere, comprising of 11 operational properties across the Maldives, India and Italy and ambitious expansion plans for South Asia and Europe. Salil’s hands-on leadership and deep industry insight have shaped the growth of the group, brand innovation and operational excellence. In 2021, Salil was honoured with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award by the Government of India, for his outstanding contribution to the development of tourism in the Maldives.
Salil’s extensive experience in the hospitality sector, two decades of which have been grounded in the Maldives, spans brand creation, resort development, financial structuring and day-to-day operations.
Today, Atmosphere Core’s resorts in the Maldives are a preferred stay for British visitors to the Maldives. Five of its resorts were recently honoured with the British Airways Customer Excellence Award 2025, extended to only 8% of hotels worldwide and recognising high guest satisfaction. As a first for any Maldivian-owned hospitality company, Atmosphere Core will be making its first foray into Europe this summer, with the launch of BORGO MONCHIERO HERITAGE By Atmosphere, an 18th century monastery, thoughtfully restored by renowned Italian architect Stefano Tardito, featuring 25 suites and rooms converted from monastic cells. The hospitality company, spearheaded by Salil, hopes that their ‘Joy of Giving’ philosophy, including generous inclusive plans, will resonate strongly with European audiences.
