This follows the hotel’s previous expansion in creating its acclaimed outdoor spa facilities, the Upper Deck, with its 18-metre infinity relaxation pool, private seating, fire pits and loungers. This significant investment reflects the group’s continued commitment to innovation, quality, and guest experience, offering a serene new space that seamlessly blends contemporary design with the natural beauty of Windermere and its surrounding fells.
A Sanctuary Inspired by Nature
Developed in close collaboration with DV8 Designs, Mason Gillibrand Architects, and Cubby Construction, the Spa Lounge embodies calm sophistication through a palette of earthy tones, natural textures, and warm, ambient lighting. Flowing archways lead to intimate seating areas centred around a striking open fireplace, the focal point of this tranquil haven.

In addition to five new treatment rooms, the reimagined Spa Lounge introduces offers a tranquil and beautifully designed space where guests can relax before or after their treatments. A beautifully designed mask bar invites guests to personalise their skincare experience by sampling a range of treatments tailored to different skin types. The space opens onto the Fell View Balcony and outdoor thermal experiences, seamlessly connecting indoor comfort with panoramic Lakeland views. This thoughtful enhancement strengthens Low Wood Bay Spa’s position as a leader in luxury wellbeing, offering guests a deeper sense of connection, relaxation, and renewal.
Introducing ‘The Guided Glow’
As part of its ongoing evolution, Low Wood Bay introduces ‘The Guided Glow’, Low Wood Bay’s signature in-room facial experience. This luxurious self-guided ritual invites guests to unwind, restore, and reveal radiant skin through five simple steps, guided by Senior Head Therapist Beckie via a personalised video tutorial.
Designed exclusively for Winander Club guests during the introductory period, The Guided Glow is set to expand to all guests next year as a pre-booked experience. Guests can begin their ritual by scanning here and explore the featured ESPA products available in the Spa Shop at Low Wood Bay.
