Located in the heart of Chelsea Green, the Birley Chocolate Shop serves an exceptional selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets; from Citrus & Herb and Honey, Almond & Nougat, to Sicilian Pistachio and Rose topped with Turkish delight.
These frozen treats are the perfect revitalising dessert to be enjoyed either at home or at Birley Chocolate on Cale Street, offering a sweet escape from the London heat. Tubs can be purchased inside to take home and scoops can be enjoyed from the hatch at the front of the shop, offering those on the go the ultimate take-away experience.
Further flavours available include as the signature Bitter Chocolate, which uses a special reserve of bitter chocolate created specifically for Birley since 1963, as well as Tahitian Vanilla, and Vanilla, Banana & Mixed Berries. Glacé Bars in fruit, yoghurt and chocolate flavours are also available.

Executive Pastry Chef Vincent Zanardi commented, “The vanilla and spice berries is a recipes that I have been doing for more then 15 years now, when I first tried it was call the “coulis multivitaminé”, a funny name in a two Michelin star restaurant, Francois Benot was the executive pastry chef for Joel Robuchon (overseeing 26 michelin stars at that time, no pressure!!). He was serving this as a coulis in one of our plated desserts, I fell in love with the mix of flavours banana-strawberry and raspberry. The vanilla from Tahiti gives a light caramel finishing, and the combination of star anis and cardamom a hint of freshness.”

An evocative creation for Executive Pastry Chef Vincent Zanardi, he comments “The chocolate and coconut was made in memory of the Bounty bar, which I love, and was made with Guanaja chocolate for the very first time in 1986. Valrhona created the world’s most bitter chocolate using 70% cocoa and it became an icon straight away. Its name, Guanaja, is a nod to the first cocoa beans given to Christopher Columbus when he washed up on the Caribbean Island of Guanaja on July 30, 1502.”
